Kelsey Grammer, the actor most famous for his title role in the "Cheers" spinoff "Frasier," is the target of ex-wife Camille Grammer's anger following their nasty divorce, according to The New Jersey Star-Ledger. She told reporters Kelsey Grammer "abandoned" her and tried to conceal his girlfriend's pregnancy.
Camille Grammer claims she didn't know about about her husband's infidelity until a mutual friend call her while he was in New York for a stage production of "La Cage Aux Folles."
The unidentified friend told her Kelsey Grammer was planning to leave his wife of 14 years. She said he ignored her initial text message when she tried to confront him:
"An hour later, I texted him again and he wrote: 'I don't want to talk.' I wrote, 'We've been together for 14 years; I deserve an explanation.' Finally, three hours later, he called me. He basically said, 'I don't want to be married anymore.'"
As Chicago family law attorneys would tell you, cheating spouses often have less leverage than the other party in divorce proceedings.
Kelsey Grammer announced that his girlfriend, 29-year-old stewardess Kayte Walsh, was pregnant just a month after their separation. Camille Grammer said he lied to her when she asked about the pregnancy rumors prior to his announcement. Kayte Walsh later miscarried.
Camille Grammer said she offered to go into marriage therapy but said Kelsey Grammer was not at all interested:
"I started crying and he said, 'Oh, grow up.' I said, 'What about our children?' and he said, 'They'll get over it.'"
According to US Magazine, Camille Grammer believed her now-ex-husband encouraged her to star on Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" so he would have more time to spend with his girlfriend. Kayte Walsh lives in New York, where the former "Frasier" star was working at the time.
