Kelsey Grammer and estranged wife Camille Donatacci have cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce. But that hasn't stopped the gossip columnists from speculating about the reasons for the split, according the New York Daily News. The couple is calling it quits after 13 years of marriage.
The former "Frasier" and "Cheers" star said the marriage failed simply because there were "a few things" the couple was unable to work out. Although it appears that the rumors are just rumors, Chicago family law attorneys would tell you the real reasons for a divorce impact decisions such as alimony and child custody.
According to one rumor, Kelsey Grammer forgot to call his children on Father's Day. He was in New York performing in the Broadway production of "Le Cage aux Folles," while Camille Donatacci and the kids were in Los Angeles. He was probably supposed to call them because of his hectic work schedule.
Regardless of the rumor, he claims he did call his kids that evening. But even if he hadn't, is that really a valid reason for a divorce?
Kelsey Grammer also was seen having dinner with a so-called "dirty blond" in New York in April. He may take issue with the name-calling, as well as reports that they were kissing, but he quickly clarified that the "dirty blond" was actually his 26-year-old daughter. He humorously debunked the rumor that he was making out with his daughter:
"I do take issue with the characterization that we were smooching, but surely if that were the case, then even I admit it might be newsworthy in some fashion."
Estranged wife Camille Donatacci filed for divorce on July 1. Kelsey Grammer said they had been "discussing the possibility of a separation for some time before all this happened."
But regardless of your reasons, make sure you consult with a capable and experienced divorce attorney in Chicago first.
